A Blueprint for Transformation: Green Digital Fashion Manager Job Profile and Curriculum
14 April 2026
The DigiFashTech project has introduced a new professional benchmark for the fashion industry with the development of the Job Profile and Curriculum for the Green Digital Fashion Manager. As part of the Erasmus+ initiative Green DigiFashTech Manager, this milestone marks a significant step toward aligning sustainability and digital transformation within the European fashion and textile ecosystem.
The Green Digital Fashion Manager is conceived as a forward-looking leadership role, responding to the increasing demand for professionals who can bridge creative design, digital innovation, and sustainability governance. Positioned at the intersection of strategy and practice, this role is designed to translate policy ambitions and technological advancements into tangible, measurable, and inclusive solutions across fashion value chains.
The newly developed framework consists of two key components. The Job Profile defines the role’s core responsibilities, competencies, and leadership scope, aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). Complementing this, the Curriculum Framework is structured into five interconnected modules, offering a comprehensive and adaptable learning pathway suitable for both vocational education and training (VET) and higher education contexts.
Grounded in extensive research, case studies, and stakeholder consultations across Europe, the framework addresses current skills gaps while anticipating future industry needs. It introduces a new educational paradigm centered on sustainability, digitalization, and innovation-driven leadership.
By contributing to the “twin transition” toward a greener and more digital economy, the DigiFashTech project strengthens Europe’s capacity for competitiveness, resilience, and social responsibility within the fashion sector.
Ultimately, this initiative lays the foundation for a new generation of professionals equipped to lead systemic change—where sustainability becomes strategy, digitalization drives transformation, and collaboration shapes the future of fashion.
