Seam the Change: Athens Fashion Hackathon — Day 1 Highlights

The DigiFashTech Fashion Hackathon commenced in Athens with an inspiring and thought-provoking opening day dedicated to “Circularity in Context: Policy & Practice.”

Facilitated by Nicholas Yatromanolakis and the Policy Lab team, the session invited participants to explore how innovative and inclusive policy design can drive circularity and sustainability within the fashion ecosystem.

Throughout the day, participants engaged in a dynamic and structured process that guided them through: Identifying real-world challenges related to circular fashion; Mapping current policy landscapes and gaps; Setting meaningful circularity goals; Developing innovative policy ideas, including ownership, risks, and opportunities; Mapping stakeholders and outlining actionable next steps.

The session concluded with the presentation of policy proposals, Power–Interest maps, and ecosystem insights, all documented on the FABRIX platform. These outputs were further enhanced through valuable feedback and mentorship from EU experts.

The collaborative spirit, creativity, and strategic thinking that filled Day 1 set an inspiring foundation for the days ahead — as participants continue to co-create solutions that blend digital innovation, sustainability, and fashion under the DigiFashTech initiative.
